I just came up with a theory. It could be totally wrong, of course, but I’m starting to wonder if the wildlife up here in Alaska can sense that we’re only here for a temporary stay, so they’ve decided to make an appearance on a regular basis – kinda to welcome us and make us feel at home. I mean, it’s really the polite thing to do, right? And I have to say, I’m quite pleased they are popping in to say hello every now and again.
Take last week, for example. After a fun hiking excursion up Flattop (possibly the most popular hike in Anchorage), we had the pleasure of bumping into Mr. Black Bear. It was a little rude of us to interrupt his dinner, I’ll admit, but he seemed to forgive our intrusion for a moment and continued munching away. Then, having done his duty by making his appearance, he skedaddled away.
I don’t know if there’s a cuter-looking skeddadler than Mr. Bear. How adorable are his floppy feet?
