I have to say that I’m a little amazed at how many artists we encountered on our travels around Japan.
Sure I’ve seen the random painter or group of students on location trying to render their own interpretation of the scene in front of them. But never before had I so regularly seen people out drawing as I did in Japan.
This group had made themselves at home on the grounds of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan.
This guy was busy coloring up a storm in Kyoto along the banks of a river.
And this guy plopped his setup near the sakura (cherry blossoms) in Nagasaki.
I love that each one of these guys made the conscious effort to get out there and create something beautiful. I think it would be awesome if everybody went out and made something they loved every day. :)
